Commissioned by the U.S. Army, John M. Browning designed the original Browning Automatic Rifle in a mere three months. Variants of this legendary military arm served with distinction from World War I until the Vietnam War. But the legacy of the BAR didn’t end there. The concept of a sporting BAR rifle was the brainchild of another Browning, John’s grandson Bruce. With aid from the firearm experts of FN in Belgium, the sporting BAR was born. To commemorate 100 years of the Browning BAR, every rifle produced in 2017 will receive a limited edition serial number. The anniversary model is presented in the timeless Safari Grade. Exquisite wood and embellishments set this very limited rifle apart.
